Wildfire & Earthquake Safety Expo Invites Families to Prepare for Emergencies
The 6th Annual Wildfire and Earthquake Expo will take place Sunday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds. This free, family-friendly event brings together more than 25 public safety and emergency preparedness organizations offering hands-on learning about how teams respond to disasters. Attendees can enjoy live demonstrations, emergency preparedness tips, helicopter displays, extinguisher training, a simulated earthquake experience, free breakfast, and a complimentary emergency “Go Bag” (one per family, while supplies last). Educational resources will be available in English and Spanish, along with free parking and food trucks.
Expo de Seguridad ante Incendios Forestales y Terremotos invita a prepararse en familia
La 6.ª Expo Anual sobre Incendios Forestales y Terremotos se realizará el domingo 26 de abril, de 10 a.m. a 3 p.m., en el Recinto de la Feria del Condado de Sonoma. Este evento gratuito y familiar reunirá a más de 25 agencias y organizaciones de seguridad pública que ofrecerán experiencias prácticas para aprender cómo responder ante emergencias. Habrá demostraciones en vivo, consejos de preparación, exhibición de helicópteros, capacitación con extinguidores, simulación de terremoto, desayuno gratuito y una mochila de emergencia de regalo por familia (hasta agotar stock). La información estará disponible en inglés y español, además de estacionamiento gratis y food trucks.
Sonoma County Launches Mobile Service Vans to Expand Community Access
Sonoma County will unveil a new Open Doors Mobile Services van on April 14 at 10:30 a.m. outside the Board of Supervisors Chambers in Santa Rosa. The initiative introduces two customized mobile offices that will bring county services directly to underserved communities, helping residents access food assistance, health care, economic support and family services without traveling to government offices. The launch will include a ribbon-cutting, van tours, technology demonstrations and interview opportunities with county officials.

🥎 Softball season returns to Santa Rosa—registration opens soon!
Summer is almost here, and Santa Rosa Recreation & Parks is opening registration for men’s, women’s, co-ed, and men’s masters softball leagues from April 6–24. Teams can be made up of friends, coworkers, or family, with men’s and women’s teams typically having 11 players and co-ed teams around 15 players (with at least four men and four women on the field). Registration can be completed online or in person at Finley Community Center, and more details are available at SRCity.org/Softball. After registering, teams must attend a mandatory online managers’ meeting on May 18 and submit final rosters by May 26. The season officially kicks off the week of June 1, offering a great way to stay active, enjoy the outdoors, and connect with the community.

El verano está por comenzar y Santa Rosa Recreation & Parks abrirá inscripciones para ligas de sóftbol de hombres, mujeres, co-ed y masters del 6 al 24 de abril.
